My role as your doula...
I’m an independent professional doula, hired directly by you and serving your agenda only. That means I am working only for you - not for your care provider (gynecologist, midwife), hospital, not your husband or partner, and definitely not for my own personal agenda.
It’s important for you to understand that I cannot - and do not - guarantee a specific outcome for your birth. My goal is to help you have a satisfying birth as you define it.
My role as a birth doula is to provide physical, emotional, and informational support to women during their labor and encourage communication with the staff at the birthplace to ensure that you have the information needed to make informed decisions regarding your baby’s birth.
All information you give to me I keep strictly confidential. It is not my place to - and I will not - judge or question your choices, whether you choose a full palette of pain medication at a hospital or if you prefer to have a free birth in a river stream. I am there for you, a powerful and free birthing person.

What is the difference between a doula and a midwife?
Non medical
Doulas do not perform any medical tasks, such as vaginal exams, fetal and maternal heart rate monitoring nor blood pressure monitoring.
Jugdement free
Doulas do not project their own values, beliefs and goals onto a client and their family.
Evidence-based informations
Doulas do not diagnose medical conditions, offer second opinions or give medical advice.
Neutral
Doulas do not make decisions for the client or suggest the right approach to medical issues.
Advocate of your needs
Doulas generally refrain from talking to medical staff on your behalf unless you instruct them otherwise. Doulas' main role is to empower you to use your voice when necessary.
Additional, not instead
Doulas do not take over the role of main supporter from your partner. We reinforce the partner to support you better.
Trained non medical professional
Doulas are not trained to treat medical issues. However, we are extensively trained through external training centers and usually have multiple complementary qualifications that a birthing person can benefit from, like acupuncture and acupressure, massage- and physiotherapist, Reiki practitioner, childbirth educator, and very often an up-to-date First Aid for Newborns and Infant's certificate.
Ok... but what exactly does a doula do?
Each doula is as unique as a flower blooming in a spring glade. We have different temperaments, values, styles of work, skills, ages, hobbies...
